This class will be conducted in English: it is designed to give opportunities for you to use your existing English skills to learn a new subject-ANCIENT EGYPTIAN CIVILIZATION. The course is designed as a general introduction to the ancient Egyptian religion in life and death through Pharaonic period. NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE of the subject matter is required, but you SHOULD BE PREPARED to work MOSTLY IN ENGLISH.When you complete this course, you should be able to- Comprehend and work through academic materials- Identify the Egyptian gods and goddesses- Explain the major Egyptian mythological stories in English- Work through inconsistent multi-structured Egyptian mythology developed over 3,000 years to find their own internal logic.Work more than 60 hours are required on reviewing on the topic covered in each class, familiarising yourself with Egyp-tian religious ideas. Religion was a fundamental part of the life of every Egyptian. Complicated they may sound, supplemental Japanese reading materials along with explanations in Japanese in class should guide you through each topic.
